A family is full of happy, sad, love and affection. It cannot be shared with outside world. It's their personal. They need some private space to share their personal feelings. It's called home.

It can be referred as home and house. Let's see the name reasons. The word 'House' comes from the old english word 'Husan' which was derived from the proto-germanic word 'Hus'. The word 'Home' comes from the old english word 'Ham' which was derived from the proto-germanic word 'Khaim'. There is a difference between them. House indicates only building. Home indicates a happy family with building.

Let's see the transformation of houses. Ancient people built their houses with the help of branches in tall trees to protect them from animals. They also built their shelter with the skin of dead animals. Then they started to live in caves. To build their homes better, they used some stone tools. After that, they built using the sun dried bricks.  

Homes built in Catal Huyuk, Turkey is referred as the oldest one dated back 8500 years. The homes here were built by sun dried bricks. The homes are joined together and there are no doors and windows. They made hole on the roofs to come outside. They painted their own pictures on the walls. The dead people was buried inside the house.

The people who lived along the lake shore, know to build houses above water. By fixing wooden logs on the shore, they built their houses. Egyptians who came after that, built storey houses. Assyrians who came after 500 years, identified the method of drying bricks in fire. Greeks fixed the first door on their walls. Then romans, fixed the windows and they used earthenware pipes to heat the room. After this, castles and the houses with stones and wooden logs were in trend.

In 16th century, houses were built to defend, not for luxury. Until this, glass windows were expensive. At the end, it became common. Rich houses contain only one big hall. So that, they can't able to build storey. They divided the hall into rooms at the end of this century.

In 17th century, wooden houses came in trend. In this time, chimney were common. Glass windows became too cheap. Casement windows and Sush windows were developed this time. Even poor people lived in houses that has 2-3 rooms.

In 18th century, a part of the people lived a luxury life. Simple furnitures were developed those times. 

In 19th century, the houses were huge. They called it as back to back houses. The rooms were built on the top of the other. The backside of two houses were joined with a single wall. Windows were at one side. Ground floor were used as kitchen cum living room. The rooms in the upstairs were used as bedrooms. After that, the concept of through houses evolved. It was built as a separate house rather than back to back houses. It has two rooms in each floor. The standard sizes were fixed in this time. 

In 20th century, houses with two rooms were in trend. They called it as front room and back room. Front room has their best furnitures and ornaments. Back room is used as their kitchen and dining room where they spent most of their time. In this time, coal stove was used for cooking. Then gas stoves came. In this century, 90% of the people lived in rental homes. After that, own house became common. Apartment culture was developed this time to clear slums. The construction of houses became drastic. The houses built at present have all luxury. Our culture was developed to built houses even under water. The growth will always be high.
